In perfect, serendipitous (and likely Kris Jenner-strategized) timing, Lana Del Rey stars in a brand new Valentine’s Day campaign for Kim Kardashian‘s shapewear brand Skims — just two days after the Grammy-winning singer was announced as a headliner for this year’s Coachella.
The campaign imagery, shot by British photographer Nadia Lee Cohen, features Del Rey styled in Skims everyday essentials including the best-selling Fits Everybody bodysuit, the heart-print Sleep set, the all-new Woven Shine dress and more. This year, the brand’s Valentine’s Day Shop has expanded to over 29 limited-edition collections of intimates, sleep sets and loungewear. It will become available to shop on the Skims website, and other select retailers, starting Jan. 23.
“I’ve been a big fan of Skims since the beginning, so being featured in their Valentine’s campaign is so exciting,” Del Rey said in a statement “Their collection is so pretty and dreamy, which made collaborating with Nadia on the creative so fun. I hope you love it as much as I do.”
Del Rey, whose most recent album “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under the Ocean Blvd” received five Grammy nominations, joins a growing list of A-list celebrities to star in the brand’s buzzy campaign ads, an aspect of the company’s effort to to align with significant pop culture moments. In October, “Sex and the City” star Kim Catrall fronted the Best of Skims campaign, and stars such as Ice Spice, PinkPantheress and Sza have also all partnered with the brand. Simona Tabasco and Beatrice Grannó of the “The White Lotus starred in 2023’s Valentine’s Day campaign.
On Jan. 17, styles will be up for preview on the Skims Valentine’s Shop and will be available for purchase on Jan. 23 at Skims.com and at select retailers including Nordstrom, Holt, Harrods, Selfridges, Lane Crawford, Ounass and David Jones.
