Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Posters Pay Tribute to District Heroes
There’s no doubt that the Capitol would approve of Lionsgate’s latest promotional campaign for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.”
The studio recently released posters celebrating Panem’s — the post-apocalyptic nation where “Hunger Games” is set — district heroes. The propaganda-style images “salute the citizens” of the mining, technology, fishing, transportation, grain, livestock and lumber districts.
In addition to the visually stunning photos that could easily be found in a high fashion magazine, the viral marketing campaign includes a “government website” for Panem, TheCapitol.pn.
The site features bios of the heroes, including the lumberjack below. “Elias Haan, 26, has kept the axe handed down to him by his great-grandfather as a reminder of the hardships he and his great District have overcome.”
Katniss’ (played by Jennifer Lawrence) own District 12 has the most startling poster of all plastered with a six-year-old coal miner.

“Mockingjay – Part 1” opens on November 21 so there are five more months of clever marketing to look forward to.
Vist the Capitol website for the rest of the posters.
